Halloween

Tori had a fun 1st Halloween. I had planned on her being a pea pod, but it was too small so she went with the backup bee :)

This is the first mother's group event we have attended.

Tori trick or treating at Madelyn's house.

Tori trying to eat the pumpkin :( We now know she had 6 teeth about to break through. No wonder she wanted to chew on everything :)

5-6th Month Update :)

Yesterday (October 25) Tori had her 6 month checkup. She is now a whopping 13 pounds and 8 ounces and 25 inches long. She did well on her developmental checkup and entertained the nurses and doctor. She loved the crinkle of the paper covering the patient table and did a great job of shredding it. As the doctor was checking her over, she happily wiggled all over the place showing off her new abilities to roll over and go up on her knees. Besides a little concern over her hands sometimes turning blue after naps lately, the doctor thought she looked and acted healthy.

Tori is still changing so quickly and adding more to her repertoire each week. She has now mastered the backwards crawl (it is amazing how fast she can go backwards) and easily goes up on all fours, but still has not moved in the forward direction :) She can sit and play with her toys for hours (definitely did not get mommy's attention span) and recently learned how to get herself to sitting from her tummy. Last Saturday was a big day for Tori. She started rice cereal (loves it!!!) and amazingly decided to put herself to sleep without any protesting (I was giving her 10 minutes before I helped her to go to sleep and she went to sleep by herself and has every night since.). I just hope it continues :)

Finally the answer to the most common question: "Is she sleeping through the night?" The simple answer is no. Every time she starts to sleep through the night for a few days something happens to disrupt the pattern (teething on the bottom, learning to roll over 1 way only, and now teething on the top for the past month :( ). Hopefully soon...I cannot remember what it felt like to get more than 2-4 hours of continuous sleep :)

Here are the 5th month pictures :)

Tori's first big party at our house. Matt did his BBQ and beer get together. Tori enjoyed being passed around so much she refused to eat for 2 hours past her normal eating time. I finally had to take her away from the excitement and convince her to eat :)

Trip to Hickory to visit Grandparents

Tori had a great time in Hickory! She started the trip at Grandpa's work where she put on quite a show. My angelic child screamed at the top of her lungs until she was fed and then went to sleep. (I thought it was a good idea to leave right before her nap time so she could sleep on the drive....I learned otherwise :) ) The rest of the weekend she was her usual happy self.

Karen came over to meet Tori. She had a magic shoulder that put Tori right to sleep.

Tori about to go on a walk. It was a little colder than expected so she had to borrow a sweater and socks that was Gram's as a baby.

A teething Tori :) Her bottom two teeth finally broke through.

We tried to spike her hair to give her a real mohawk. It is a little hard to see.
